Our Privacy Promise

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process and use your personal information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your Information. We are required by GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) which come into force throughout the EU from 25
May 2018 to follow strict procedures to protect personal data. IRI is based in Ireland, but we do have Members and Partners outside of Ireland. Where we are engaged in cross border data transfers from customers located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we will ensure that we continue to follow appropriate practices and follow one or more of the approved means of protecting personal data that leaves the EU. Data Inventory & what we hold The first category of personal data that we process as a data processor is data belonging to our customer/members. The customer data that we process falls into several categories as follows;

  • Company/Member Name, including staff names
  • Customer/Member Address
  • Customer/Member phone number
  • Customer/Member email account
  • Customer/Member correspondence/attendance history

We store all of the above to process customer’s/members daily requirements; all information gained was given at conception of the relationship between our customer/members and ourselves.

The second category of personal data that we process is data belonging to our volunteers, council.

  • Name
  • Address
  • Bank Details
  • Email address

All of the above information is stored for the purpose it was given for.

The third category of data we process is data belonging to our Corporate Partners. The data used for partners is processed as follows;

  • Name, including staff names
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email accounts
  • Bank account details
  • Transactional history

What do we do with it, why and for how long?

We use it for the sole purpose it was intended for. We will retain information no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected and processed.

How do we store it?

We follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of your personal data, and to protect it against accidental loss, destruction or damage. The data is stored and protected by password protected software, which is accessed by company directors only. We keep your Personal Data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with any applicable legal or ethical reporting or document retention requirements.

Our servers and our databases are protected by industry standard security technology, such as industry standard firewalls and password protection. The employees who have access to Personal Data are trained handle such data properly and in accordance with our security protocols and strict standards of confidentiality. Although we cannot guarantee against any loss, misuse, unauthorised disclosure, alteration or destruction of data, we take reasonable steps to prevent this.

What do we do with your information?

We use your information for legitimate business purposes which enable us to enhance the services we provide to you, to make our service and your website experience more relevant and effective for you. This means that we use your information:

  • To inform you of new legislations, services or events we think will be of interest to you.
  • We may send you regular updates by email.
  • We may send you industry updates and promotional material.

Updating/Unsubscribing/Amending Your Information

If you wish to access or correct your Personal Data, please write to the IRI Membership Office, 5 Laffin’s Lane, Arklow, Co.Wicklow Y14 PF85 Upon receipt of your written request and enough information to permit us to identify your Personal Data, we will disclose to you the Personal Data we hold about you. We will also correct, amend or delete any Personal Data that is inaccurate. Whenever we contact you, you will always find an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email, which you can also use to tell us if you no longer wish to receive emails or other communication.

Do we share your data with any third party?

We do not share, sell or distribute your Personal Data with third parties. Personal Data will only be transferred to third parties who act for or on behalf of the IRI, or in connection with the business of the IRI for further processing in accordance with the purposes for which the data was originally collected or for purposes to which you have subsequently consented. For example, sometimes a third party may have access to your Personal Data in order to dispatch print mailings or electronic voting materials on our behalf.
